Pipe Walking Monitoring System (WMS)
Objectives
Lattice Link™ Pipe Walking Monitoring System (WMS) reduces the cost of flowline monitoring, providing reliable information on walking to enable cost-effective and timely decisions to be made on walking mitigation.
WMS is a remote system, that can be retrofitted, has a potential life-of-field battery and may be interrogated by ROV to download walking information recorded since deployment. The simplicity of this approach is more cost effective and informative than methods used in the past, such as transponder arrays, or ROV visual surveys. Industry experience of interrogating such historic walking data has highlighted the limitations and the uncertainties in predicting actual behaviour.
Features
Efficient, accurate, drift-free continuous monitoring of displacement
Wireless recovery of walking information to ROV, AUV or nearby Subsea Control Module
Low power consumption leading to a battery life of up to 10 years
Optionally integrated with temperature sensor attached to outside of the pipe
Stand-alone system that can be fitted in minutes, recovered and retrofitted elsewhere but could also be preinstalled with minimal ROV intervention for initial set up.
